Dairy free blackberry ice cream

Method

  1. Put the bowl of the ice cream machine in the freezer.
  2. Put the cream, milk, shortening, butter andd sugar into a saucepan. Heat gently until everything is melted and remove from the heat.
  3. Stir in the blackberry puree and allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.
  4. Put the mixture in a container with a lid and leave it to cool in the fridge overnight.
  5. The next day, churn in the ice cream machine.
  6. Put it back in the container and leave the ice cream in the freezer for at least 2 hours to set up before eating.
